We were looking in our News Section earlier (no newspaper needed when using Midlands Maidens), when this item on student work caught our eye:
Over the past few days, we’ve added a couple of new optimisation softwares into the website, one of which decided to remove our video posts.
Luckily we managed to catch the offender pretty sharpish, meaning that all the remaining posts stayed unaffected.
A quick list of posts that have been repaired (in no particular order):
- 1) Maryjane Revisited
- 2) Competitions
- 3) Sakura Sakurada
- 4) Menage a Trois
- 5) Cloudbusting/The Handmaids Tale
You might have noticed that most of the above videos are from various porn sites and so the videos from there needed to be embedded rather than just added via a video link as per YouTube.
Just one more good reason to keep on top of your optimisation, yes?
The Two Softwares
The first of these is a well-known writing assistant software called Grammarly.
This is the one that made a complete hash of our embedded videos from above, but we finally worked out how to use it without it needing to un-embed our coding.
It’s pretty cool though, and with this being the first live post that we’re using it on, it’s a point of honour and intelligence to keep the Grammarly symbol in the green.
Any RED symbols mean you’ve made a cock-up somewhere and any BLUE ones mean that there is something wrong with the sentence construction.
As I mentioned earlier though, we keep it in the green as we’re intelligent!
Rank Math claims to do everything and more of what Yoast was only offering in the premium version, so after some intensive research and realising that there were no nagging adverts to upgrade.
We’ve not given up on Yoast yet though as it remains on our website, though it’s deactivated – more of a fail-safe tactic in case Rank Math goes tits-up.
That’s about it for this post, and if you happen to find that one or more of the videos stops working, please let us know via the SUGGESTIONS page so that we can find a replacement.
