Cry Me – Rockbitch
We thought it was about time that we introduced you to Rockbitch in the Music Box. ‘Cry Me‘ is the song we chose to showcase and by all accounts, this song is far removed from Rockbitch’s usual antics of doing unspeakable and outrageous acts on stage, which we’ll portray in full, in a future Music Box post.
Cry Me is a women’s lib type song, that sees the band capturing men and piling them up in an untidy heap, with a blue painted naked guitarist playing a solo on top of them.
Nothing strange there then.
As part of their routine, during the show they would throw out a “Golden Condom” and whoever caught it (boy or girl) was invited to have sex with the band. The girls from Rockbitch wanted to add that, out of all the people who got the Golden Condom, only men were the ones who chickened out, many believing that it was only a joke. Rockbitch’s in-your-face female sexuality was, and still is, highly intimidating to many people and especially men.

By the time that Cry Me was released, it was during the second incarnation of Rockbitch – MT-TV – where they’d turned the wild antics down a little in favour of going fully clothed.
A further incarnation evolved (Syren) but this last band tragically disbanded after the drummer died of breast cancer in 2012.
It was a pretty difficult task to find any photos to use that wouldn’t get us banned from those social networks that don’t allow nude photos, so excuse the rather gothic tones of the header image that we were forced into using.
It was also pretty tricky to find videos, as youtube tend to delete anything to do with Rockbitch!
We managed to find this one though, so enjoy Cry Me from MT-TV, the second reincarnation of Rockbitch.
As we mentioned before, keep a watch out for future posts, when we’re looking to post a full show containing all the antics, actions and slaves that were part and parcel of a full Rockbitch concert!
